Her memorial will be held on August 4th, 2024 at the Old Mill Park Ampitheatre in Mill Valley, CA. The family asks that everyone wear earth tones. Linda’s memory will forever live on in the artistic works of IOCB and in the hearts and minds of her colleagues, friends, and family. We miss you so much. In the spirit of dance…

Vanilla is a short dance film that considers global warming, existential dread, and the magnificence of the natural world. The film captures the zeitgeist of the 21st century by way of a little known story about how vanilla is grown, harvested, and processed into the sweetness we know and love.
Featuring dancers Cadey Turner & Lindsey Johnson. Original musical score recorded and performed by Ben Juodvalkis. Spoken word written and performed by Casey Lee Thorne. Choreographed by Casey Lee Thorne. Shot at the Dance Palace in Pt. Reyes Station.
10th anniversary season!
film premiere of taking my time
Since 2012, Inside Out Contemporary Ballet has produced and performed contemporary dance works throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and abroad.
To commemorate ten years of dance making, Artistic Director Casey Lee Thorne conceived of a film comprised of excerpts from every piece made in the past ten years. This retrospective, choreographic quilt captures glimmers, or threads of the past, that give IOCB's body of work new meaning. Collaborators include dancers Linda Steele II, Ella Can, and Zara Anwar and composer Ben Juodvalkis.
In the making of our first experimental film, we asked difficult questions about time, relevancy, and togetherness. Stage production was dismantled during the Covid-19 pandemic and we were encouraged to embrace new creative mediums.
As we imagine what the next 10 years will hold, we are prepared to kick-ball-change-and-pivot with the changing tides in the name of story-telling, truth, and beauty. We hope you will join us. Film premiere November 11th, 2022.

national water dance project
On April 18th 2020, IOCB joined the movement choir of the National Water Dance Project. Our branch was supposed to perform at the Emerald Pools in Zion National Park, however the park closed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Check our BLOG POST for information about our creative process prior to the pandemic. In the end, we moved our performance to Zoom and live-streamed via Facebook and Instagram. Big thanks to everyone who joined us for our livestream! We will upload the video of our virtual performance soon.
